POET

IMAGINATIONIST

At scarred desk, in a rickety chair I sit

with my trusty pen filled with rhyme and wit.

The  prose and poetry is stored within the pen,

all I have to do is shake it out again.

Happy am I , I do not have to think,

just drag the pen across and scatter ink.

STORIES are tales of friends and times gone by,

I saw them laugh I heard them cry.

They had their problems, they showed some sin

most likely we all will suffer the same again.

There is FICTION from dismal pit to lofty crag.

Could Red Reding Hood be some weird boy in drag.

Tales of life and death to thrill your mortal soul.

Fictitious pieces in which you could take a role.

Plots are taken from the Bible and pagan crystal ball

while an idiot plays in the ogre's dining hall.

Tis fantasy, fable, adventure, and even a bewildered ghost.

To save the world a man of science is burned to toast.

Once you have waded through the fiction up to your waist,

you will find POETRY will calm your haste.

The poetry is traditional down to its rhyming core.

Through the long and short, flippng pages, seeking more.

From the world of rhyme, ESSAYS pops right back into prose.

Here are all the questions you could  suppose.

Some questions cloud the world, some answers are shone.

Some ideas here do nothing but tickle the funny bone.

The PHILOSOPHY part can be fact or pun, some lines regale.

Consider it a true or false test, there is no pass or fail.

Here is a synopsis of the half million words I've done.

If it never profits me a dime,  I've had fifty years of fun.
